& SIGNATURE EVENTS

The unique qualities of a Volta tour create a cycling experience like no other—where movement becomes meaning, and every ride unfolds through landscapes, meals, and shared moments.

Our events follow a natural rhythm. Each day brings a new destination: a hilltop village, a quiet coastal road, a vineyard bathed in afternoon light. When you arrive, your bags are waiting, your room is ready, and a regional meal is moments away.

We offer more than one way to ride:

  • Epic, multi-day Challenge Events that cross entire countries.
  • Rich, immersive journeys through Italy on the Grand Tour Italia.
  • Refined off-road adventures on our Gravel Tour Italia and Gravel Weekends.

Every experience is shaped by Team Volta—on the road and behind the scenes—and designed to balance challenge with enjoyment.

This is cycling at its most rewarding: immersive, soulful, and unforgettable.

Spain

Cycle Across Spain, Where Culture Meets Challenge

Traverse the entire Iberian Peninsula or take on a shorter but no less spectacular challenge. From mountain climbs to open plains, these events showcase Spain’s landscapes and vibrant culture.

1,000k Coast to Coast

An Epic Ride Across the Soul of Iberia

This is the original Volta adventure—an unforgettable journey that spans the full width of the Iberian Peninsula. Over seven days and 1000 kilometres, you’ll ride from the Atlantic coast of northern Spain to the sun-drenched shores of southern Portugal.

Each day delivers a new landscape—from the jagged peaks of the Cantabrian mountains to the vast, open plains of Spain and the rolling hills of the Alentejo. This is a ride of scale and satisfaction, of rhythm and reward.

With full support from Team Volta, carefully chosen hotels, and authentic regional cuisine along the way, this event is more than a challenge—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience across two cultures, two countries, and one extraordinary route

Ashley Wild – 1000k Coast to Coast

“A fabulous experience. Expertly organised, challenging and varied days across landscape you would never ordinarily get to see.”

600k Trans-Iberian

A Shorter Ride. A Deeper Experience.

The Trans Iberian condenses the spirit of the Iberian Peninsula into a powerful five-day journey, linking Spain’s historic heartlands with the golden landscapes of central Portugal.

Covering 600km, this ride balances challenge with cultural depth—passing through medieval towns, sweeping valleys, and remote villages where tradition still thrives. It’s a route built for riders who want to go far, but not fast—for those who seek immersion, not just miles.

Expect rewarding climbs, quiet roads, and evenings filled with local wine, warm hospitality, and the stories that make this region unforgettable. With full Volta support throughout, the Trans Iberian is your gateway to the quiet soul of Spain and Portugal.

Isaac Hopley – 600k Trans-Iberian

“A really thoughtful and well put together event, striking a great balance of cycling, gastronomy and local culture. A great atmosphere in the group and the enthusiasm and support from the crew lent itself to a thoroughly enjoyable week. Highly recommended.”

España Auténtica

Here, the rhythm is different—slower, sun-soaked, and full of flavour.
Mornings begin with strong coffee and the promise of open roads. Afternoons stretch across endless horizons, while evenings bring warm welcomes in hilltop towns and shared plates paired with bold Rioja.
With Volta, Spain isn’t just a route—it’s a celebration of landscape, culture, and the joy of the ride.

HANDPICKED HOTELS

Each hotel on the Trans Iberian journey is a place to unwind, connect with local culture, and reflect on the landscapes you’ve explored.

Here, cycling isn’t just about covering ground—it’s a way to experience the richness of the land and the warmth of its welcome.

N2 CHALLENGE

Portugal’s Legendary Route, Ridden Your Way

The N2 Challenge is the original point-to-point adventure crossing the full length of Portugal along its historic Estrada Nacional 2. From the granite hills of Chaves to the southern coast of the Algarve, this seven-stage journey offers 738km of rhythm, scenery, and achievement.

Each day brings a new region, a new landscape, and a new table to gather around. You’ll ride through terraced vineyards, quiet cork forests, sun-warmed plains, and whitewashed towns—experiencing the essence of Portugal as it changes kilometre by kilometre.

With support from Team Volta and carefully chosen accommodations, the N2 Challenge blends cultural depth with personal satisfaction. This is not a race—but a celebration of progress, purpose, and the simple joy of crossing a country by bike.

Jim Jeffery – N2 CHALLENGE

“If you have ever thought about cycling in Portugal you must do the N2 Challenge. It was perfect on every level, the organization, the scenery, the camaraderie. The roads were fantastically quiet. Portuguese drivers & locals were wonderfully considerate & friendly. Thoroughly recommended.”

Portugal Profundo

Accommodation

& Cuisine

Where you rest and what you eat are just as important as the ride itself. That’s why we select hotels and restaurants with care—places that offer more than just comfort and good food. Expect a variety of beautiful stays: from stylish modern retreats to historic residences in the heart of town. Every one of them chosen for character, location, and genuine hospitality.

After the ride, meals are more than a reward—they’re part of the experience. From rustic family-run trattorie to elegant regional cuisine, dining on a Volta tour is a chance to discover the flavours that define each region. Wines are local, dishes are seasonal, and no two meals are the same. Whether it’s a long lunch mid-stage or a celebratory dinner in a quiet square, every table tells a story.

Our events aren’t just about cycling—they’re about savouring a journey. One ride, one meal, one remarkable night at a time.

You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout: well-timed refreshments, knowledgeable ride leaders, and the kind of on-the-ground coordination that turns a good ride into a great one. Our support varies depending on the event, but the principle is always the same: to make your experience seamless, safe, and thoroughly enjoyable.

A Day with Volta

What to Expect on Tour

No two Volta days are quite the same—but each one follows a rhythm that’s as effortless as it is rewarding. Whether you’re crossing a country or weaving through vineyards and villages, our tours balance movement, discovery, and comfort.

A Shared Start

Each morning begins with a relaxed breakfast. Riders usually roll out together around 09:00, guided by our experienced ride leaders who help set the tone for the day—steady, social, and well-supported. You’re welcome to ride solo, but we prefer to keep riders in small groups where possible. This allows you to benefit from the insight of your guides while riding at a comfortable pace—and ensures that groups often arrive at key stops together, sharing the experience both on and off the bike.

The Journey Unfolds

Our routes are designed hotel to hotel, with each day revealing new landscapes and a renewed sense of progress. The support crew stays one step ahead—preparing feed stations or working with our trusted cafés, trattorie, and restaurants to ensure a warm welcome. Over the years, we’ve built lasting relationships with local communities, and that spirit of hospitality is woven into the journey.

Paced by Pleasure

You can race if you like, but the pleasure of the ride is always our priority. Whether spinning through olive groves with friends or climbing to a panoramic hill town, your day moves to your rhythm. By mid to late afternoon, most riders arrive at the next hotel, where your luggage is ready and relaxation begins.

Evenings Together

After the ride, the mood shifts. A refreshing shower, a glass of something local, and a table shared with fellow riders. Group dinners are included and rooted in the region’s culinary traditions—long meals, good wine, and stories exchanged over unforgettable flavours.

This is the Volta experience: seamless support, local connections, and the simple joy of riding from one remarkable place to the next.

PAGE 10

Bikes & E-Bikes

Great rides start with the right bike—and we make sure you have just that.

On our gravel events, high-quality gravel and e-gravel bikes are included as standard. Whether you’re tackling the white roads of Tuscany or the wild trails of the Apennines, these bikes are chosen to suit the terrain and enhance your experience.

Prefer to bring your own? That’s always welcome. We offer the same level of support whether you’re riding one of ours or yours.

And for those who want the adventure without the extra strain, our e-gravel bikes provide just the right boost—perfect for enjoying the climbs without missing a moment of the scenery.
