September Edition 2019
From dawn to dusk, the thirty riders of this September’s N2 Challenge immersed themselves in an amazing experience – traversing the entire length of Portugal in five stunning stages.
A lot of camaraderie, dogged determination, sweat and effort went into every one of the 738kms.
New friendships were forged, personal targets conquered and life-long memories made.
Along the entire route, riders were accompanied by professional rider, Chanel Mason from Storey Racing and our good friend, Michael Hutchinson (aka Dr.Hutch) from Cycling Weekly – the kilometres simply slipped away!
During the five stages the riders climbed the rugged mountains in the north, descended the tranquil Douro Valley, rode through the sleepy villages of Alentejo and finally climbed the mountains into the Algarve in the far south.
At the end of each day we dined in selected restaurants and relaxed in the 4 & 5 star hotels – every one of them offering excellent service and the best regional gastronomy and wine.
Many of the riders prepared for the event with the aid of Dame Sarah Storey’s ‘N2 Challenge Training Programme’. The programme was an invaluable resource and ensured riders were fully prepared for long days in the saddle.
As always, our crew and pro riders were on top form. Providing company on the ride, support on the climbs and ensuring everyone was well fed and hydrated throughout each stage.
Our customer reviews on Facebook have been amazing and we would like to thank everyone who texted us personal messages – we loved being in your company.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page as we’ll be posting many more images, stories and videos over the coming weeks
We hope to see you on the N2 Challenge next year
