Lacets du MontVernier, is a beautiful climb full of technical switchbacks, that then leads to the town of Saint-Jean du-Maurienne, which makes for a great espresso stop before heading south back out of the town, and the amazing climb up to the summit of the Croix de la Fer. From there, it’s a long, awesome descent (passing the summit of the Col du Glandon) all the way back to Le Bourg-d’Oisans, and the end of the day.

The Col du Telegraph on the north east side leads onto the mighty summit of the Col du Galibier, with a beautiful village called Valloire resting between the two climbs. From the summit (2,700m) it’s a magical long, long descent of the Col du Lautaret on the south west side, again all the back down to the town of Le Bourg-d’Oisans and the finish.
